The Cowan church of Christ is a friendly and welcoming congregation. We believe that the Bible is the complete, exclusive word of God (2 Tim 3:16, 1 Cor 13:9-10). Our goal is to be obedient to God's word and avail ourselves of the great price that Jesus paid on the cross for all sinners (Phil 2:5-8). When we assemble together on every first day of the week for worship (Acts 20:7) our purpose is to “worship God in spirit and in truth” (John 4:22-23), not to entertain ourselves. Our worship follows the examples and instructions of the Apostles in the Bible; therefore, it consists of preaching (1 Cor 1:17-18), singing without instruments (Eph 5:19), prayer (1 Thess 5:17), the Lord supper (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor 11:23-26), and giving (1 Cor 16:2). All of which are led by the men of the congregation.

All are invited to come and hear the pure Gospel of Christ at our worship on Sunday morning and evening. We also invite you to our times of Bible study (2 Tim 2:15) on Sunday mornings before worship and on Wednesday nights; at both times we have classes for all ages.
